Caller Identification

My daughter is a Plusnet customer.  Recently she finds that when I call her landline phone number, instead of my telephone number showing as the caller, she gets a message which reads something like "Unavailable - out of area".  Also, when she then dials 1471, it says something like "We don't have the number for you to call back"

Are these Plusnet line faults or has me daughter inadvertently altered her phone internal settings? Advice would be appreciated.

Re: Caller Identification

I don't think there would be any settings that your daughter could change that would affect 1471.

I'm not expert on this, but to me it sounds more of a problem with your line than hers.  Can you confirm what shows up on other peoples phones and 1471 when you call?

Re: Caller Identification

A second daughter took her own phone to the daughter with Caller I.D problems and found she too had the same "Caller Display" and 1471 not working problems.  The daughter with the phone problem had already phoned Plusnet but did not get much help except to be told there was no problem with the line and she she should get someone from the phone manufacturer in.   What else should I do to help?

Re: Caller Identification

A good starting point would be to answer my query.

Re: Caller Identification

I can confirm that when I telephone daughter no. 2 at her home her caller display and 1471 work as expected i.e my own phone and line are providing caller I.D.
