where will fttp come from

I live in Myroad (post code ZY98 7NF) but my telephone line comes from a telegraph pole in Nextdoor Road (ZY98 7NA).

Openreach have been surveying Myroad and predicting that it will be getting fttp within four months.

But am I likely to be on the Nextdoor Road schedule?

Thanks

Re: where will fttp come from

PS - I don't think that any other property on Myroad has an overhead line

@Belf

As you're on an overhead line it's likely you'll be supplied Full Fibre that way. However until the network build is complete and you can order FF you just won't know.

What you could do is check ZY98 7NA and see what OR are saying for that post code.

@Belf

Does the pole that provides your line service other houses?

If so, keep an eye on it to see if something like the following is attached to the top of it any time soon.

cbt-1.jpg

These are CBT's - Connectorized Block Terminals. The number of ports depends on the number of properties served. The fibre optic cable is plugged into a port before being run to your house.

Re: where will fttp come from

Thanks, Brian.

The 4 month estimate for Myroad came from a human Openreach surveyor. Both postcodes are within a year on the OR website.

Yes, the pole does supply other properties on Nextdoor Road.  No CBT yet but I shall start a watch!

OR do build in "areas" so it's logical both streets will be done at the same time. However it's OR we're talking about so logic may not apply!!!

Just keep on eye on the pole for the CBT and when (or if) it appears the FF shouldn't be too far away.
