Upgrading from FTTP trial

Do you loose your landline when upgrading from the FTTP trial even if it's with BT?

I have a separate copper cable for the landline (via BT) and FTTP for fibre via Plusnet.

Re: Upgrading from FTTP trial

@pmg

The answer should be NO. PlusNet do not, and should not, have any control over your landline.

I assume you're on an old legacy product from PlusNet from back in the day when they allowed Internet only accounts. I too was on a BT landline when I got on the Trial, paying an Internet only premium. I cancelled the line shortly afterwards.

Re: Upgrading from FTTP trial

As you already have FTTP with us, upgrading to a full fibre product won't touch your copper line with BT.

However if you had say FTTC with us and a copper line with BT, then upgrading to FTTP with us would cease it with BT.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

Re: Upgrading from FTTP trial

Oops!!

While my reply was correct because you were already on FTTP it, as @Gandalf pointed out, would be wrong if you're on FTTC.

An FTTP install can involve the removal of the copper wire to you house. This does happen if you have an overhead feed. You lose you're phone number at the same time.
