Upgrade Offer

Good afternoon
I notice that I can increase the speed of my broadband package for no extra charge. I am part way through my current contract and wondered if there will be a charge for upgrading now or is it just taking out a new 24 month contract.
Any one able to help?

@nigelbrand05

What are your currently on - FTTC or FTTP?

Do you need the extra speed?

There is no charge for upgrading - as you state you simply agree a new contract.

Re: Upgrade Offer

I'm fairly sure it will just be a new 2 year contract.

If you are on "fibre" now (so copper delivery to your home) I suspect the faster offer will be "full fibre" (fibre to your home).

There are commercial incentives to ISPs (Communications Providers) to shift people off the copper network and that translates to offers to customers.

I am the satisfied customer....

Re: Upgrade Offer

I too believe that the move will require the start of a new two year contract. I enquired about this a good while ago and was told that I would lose the landline. Only way to keep it would be to transfer to EE. I don’t need extra speed so didn’t bother to upgrade.

@SteelCity1

If you still have the landline then you'll need to do something about it soon.

You don't have to move to EE to keep it (if you want a landline). Depending on your o/s contract you could move to another ISP like Zen Internet or stay with PN for internet only and move the number to a VOIP provider.

Re: Upgrade Offer

Apologies - many thanks for the replies
Perhaps I should have added that currently full fibre to premises with no phone. Do not need the phone. Offer was for increasing speed of the full fibre

@nigelbrand05

So the question is - do you need the speed? If not, then I would ignore the offer.
