@Fly2 Forget the Hub 2, connect your Unify WAN port directly to the ONT.

Configure the Unify WAN for PPPoE, VLAN disabled, with your Plusnet credentials.

Username is <youraccount>@plusdsl.net , password is the one you use to access the member centre (www.plus.net/login )

Are you sure you have VLAN ID disabled ( or set to 0 ) ? that's a typical cause of non-connection

how long dose it usaly take for it to authenticate with the user and password

It usually only takes a few seconds.

Does the Unify have any log files ? ( preferably with some PPPoE debug )

I've used many third party routers with Plusnet and I can assure you, it does work with the correct configuration.

In fact I'm currently using my own router on a Plusnet Full fibre connection.

This thread https://community.plus.net/t5/Full-Fibre/Settings-for-Unifi-Dream-Router-direct-connection-to-FTTP/m... contains an example of the settings for a Unify UDM

I don't know much about the UCG kit but AI says

UniFi Cloud Gateway (UCG) logs can be accessed via SSH at /var/log/messages

Can you post screenshots of the configuration, maybe we can spot something obvious...

Re: Third part router hub 2 to unifi ultra

@Fly2

A suggestion would be to tail the log file to follow the live updates, have you searched the log for ppp rather than pppoe?

Gemini 3 suggests

tail -f /var/log/messages | grep pppd

grep pppd /var/log/messages | tail -n 100 <--- this should show the last 100 entries.

Hope gemini has not got this wrong.

Edit; you need ssh access for the above..
