Chap from Openreach came this morning. All working fine so far.
Speed of 13.7Mb/s down
1.26Mb/s up
Not fast I know but far better than the 1.7Mb/s down that I was getting
I know we are a long way from the cabinet and that the wiring on our estate is dire
So I am happy just hope it does not drop.

Speed has dropped to 11.6 Mbit/sec down and 1.25Mbit/sec up today still a lot better than I was getting but am hoping that it does not degrade still further.
I am 2 houses down from phil_o99 so my problem with speed will be for the same reason as his so I really hope that BT will get the aluminium cable on or part of the estate replaced with copper.

Welcome aboard! If you start seeing problems then it may be worth raising a fault to try and help with the aluminium problem in your estate. It certainly can't hurt to try and link them together as then they're fixing a problem for more than one of you (feel free to get some more of your neighbours to take up FTTC too) which may help with the economics etc. if they have to dig up gardens etc. especially if the gardens they are digging are all the ones with the same problem.
