Router delivery

Hi, I upgraded to full fibre on the 8th November and had the installation confirmed for Thursday 23rd.

I haven't received the router yet and haven't had any tracking or notification that it's been sent. How long does it normally take to arrive? If it hasn't been sent yet then it might not be here in time for the full fibre installation.

Thanks, Pete

Re: Router delivery

The Hub is sent out by 'RM Tracked 24' to arrive 1/2 days before it is required. Yours will probably be despatched Monday/Tuesday.

Re: Router delivery

You should get your router a day or two before installation date, seldom sooner. Don't know why this should be, perhaps Plusnet hangs on in case the customer has second thoughts.

@Longliner Snap 😉, and yes that is the reason.

Re: Router delivery

That's ok then, I do have a couple of older fibre routers but they're for FTTC. I ordered a new Hub 2 just in case those weren't compatible with FTTP, but if they work with it then at least I'll have one if it doesn't arrive in time.

Re: Router delivery

Be careful, some other ISP routers may not be compatible, they need to be able to work as a 'router' only device with the WAN connection being configurable for a PPPoE connection

Re: Router delivery

AND they need to not be locked to the original ISP - as most are.
