ONT

Hello

I am moving into a new build property which is full fibre ready, i have booked full fibre, my ONT does not have a red ethernet port instructions says connect red to red, so can i just connect any ethernet cable.

Yes. Any CAT5e or better Ethernet cable will work fine.

I believe the current ONT's only have one ethernet port so that is what you use.

 

On the PN Hub2 it's a different matter. You must use the red WAN port for the ONT connection.

@martyncr4 if possible, try and ensure the ONT is left powered up. Openreach will try and test it during the ordering process. If it passes then they can activate the connection remotely which will only take a day or two. If it fails it may require an engineer visit.which will likely be a week or two.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Many thanks, ONT is powered up and has been tested and will be remotely activated on my set up date.
