Re: New to plusnet today , landline no longer working

@Baldrick1

Thanks for the info, in the end (as of 16:00 today) we decided to go with the EE solution they have promised to recover the original number of Tuesday of next week, the prime reason for going with EE is the speed at which they have promised to turn this around, informally I know that BT/Openreach would not reallocate the original copper connection (I have a contact within OR that I used to work with who kindly did some digging around for me and confirmed this), Plusnet were also very sceptical whether OR would do this and also the time it would take for them to get back to us, so in terms of getting something in quick I decided on the EE route , if I had more time I may of gone down the VoIP route with A&A or voipfone etc.

Thanks for all your help, much appreciated.

Re: New to plusnet today , landline no longer working

@Penny

Thanks, eventually someone rang from Plusnet earlier this afternoon, by then I had decided in my own mind what path I would take and following on from the conversation with PN this confirmed that it was highly unlikely that the original line would be reinstated, we didnt have a clear picture on how long that message would take to come back to us, so in terms of a quick win I went either the EE solution and hopefully getting the old number back early next week. So at least in the next day or two we'll have a working telephone system and then next week hopefully the old number back in use.

Thanks for all your help, really appreciate it.

Actually it was Talk Talk that provided the service, after hours back and forth with BT they confirmed that it was them, and then after a long time going via the security questions with TT we found out it was with them.

We cant find any associated paperwork associated only by going down to the bank and getting a statement we found it was with TT. Interestingly her service should of been moved by 31/12/2025 , but because they haven't managed to get hold of her its fallen between the cracks.

@HPsauce

None of her 4 daughters have any idea on who set this up, tried PW resets on all the known email accounts, doesn't recognize any email addresses that we put in, cant find any paperwork. At the end of the day all i wanted as an outcome was a telephone she could use in an emergency, I also got her a large button mobile so hopefully she may be able to use that.

@Redmen1892

In case EE did not mention it, they will provide a free wireless adapter that, if plugged in to an adjacent mains socket, allow the phone handset to be left in its original location.

Thanks, yes, they did mention this as I was explicit in what my requirements were. I believe that we get one free adapter.

Cheers
