I suspect that the checker makes its prediction based on higher cable-fills, and so takes some crosstalk into account. The first people onto a cabinet (such as the ultra-keen triallists ) are therefore likely to get much better speeds at first, which will probably reduce as more people take up the service.
I bet the crosstalk behaviour is one of the things that BT want to discover from the trial...
