I have recently had Full Fibre installed with an BT Openreach ONT on the wall.
I have a Google nest mesh network but am failing to get the router setup and running.
The setup guide for the Hub 2 states that bridging mode is not supported for full fibre but after talking to someone at Plusnet support they said that I could simply plug my Google router into the ONT and configure it for PPoE. I was told that my username with "@plusdsl.net" on the end and password were the same as the ones I use to login to my account on the Plusnet website.
This did not work and upon looking at the configuration for the router, the broadband password is 8 characters long whereas my account password is 13 characters long.
My suspicion is that my Broadband Password is not the same as my account password, is there a way of checking this at the Plusnet end?
Failing this, could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong with my setup?
Fixed! Go to the fix.

The password you use to Login to your PN Members page is the p/w you use to create a connection.
Login to the Nest admin page and see what is being used for the p/w after checking your PN Members page works.

I've checked that I can login using my 13 digit password to the PN Members Area but looking at my connection details page it shows the password as 8 characters.
I've attached a screen snip for verification.

I no longer use the Hub2 so can't check but can you not display the actual password to see what it says. What you're seeing could just be a generic default of 8 characters.
Also, there is at least one other setting required to do a direct PPoE connection. Something to do with VLan (not required for direct correction I think).

It could be the field only displays eight characters, I'm wondering if your password has special characters which for whatever reason the Google nest doesn't like. Maybe try a mixed upper/lowercase numerical password with a maximum 8 characters.
Password can be changed in the members centre.
If there is a setting for a VLAN tag on the nest leave disabled

I checked the Plusnet page for an account password change and they ask for a special character in the password, so I left it for now.
I did a little Google about on the nest setup and people were stating that there is a common issue whereby it says that the connection has failed (which is where I stopped in the past) but to simply carry on. It exited the setup and the router wasn't added to the Google Home app so I added it again and this time it went straight to the WiFi network setup that I ran through and then all was connected with no need to change a single thing! It showed as a device on my network and a speed test confirmed it was connected.
I've had issue with the Google Nest in the past when I had to change the WAN setting to DHCP for my old provider and they can have a mind of their own!
All is setup and running now and I can get the mesh up and running and get decent wireless speeds around the house.
Thanks for the speedy input on this one.
