FTTP

Hi,

My contract runs out next month. Airband offer FTTP to my house but last year Openreach where in my road and when I asked them they said they were looking to instal FTTP. in the next year or so.

However the Openreach site says they are planning to build in this area, but no estimate of when.

As I would like to stay with Plusnet and use a landline I am thinking of just paying the extra and sticking as I am until the landlines cease at the end of the year. This will cost me about £57 rather than £26 per month but it means if there is no action by Openreach by December I can then move to Airband.

I want to put it of as Airband contracts are longer than Ideally I would like to comit to.

Has anyone any idea of how long Openreach usually take from planning to actually getting round to instal FTTP?

@Wuz

I'm afraid you probably don't have that much time. PN are actively moving people off PSTN now which leaves you with a choice of going to Airband now or commiting to a new contract with PN and moving your phone service to a VOIP provider.

@Wuz

I should have added that if you stay with PN you can upgrade to Full Fibre at any time - it simply costs a new contract.
