FTTP (trial) recent connection drops (Bradwell Abbey)

After a long period of stabillity (> 1 year I think), in July 2015 have had 4 recent connection drops (Bradwell Abbey).
The last one was about 25 mins ago and have just reconnected so posting this straight away.
Powering off the BT Openreach modem for 20 mins seems to solve them mostly.
On the hottest day of the year, experienced a red LED on the BT modem at the LOS position, and this connection drop lasted several hours.
I was concerned that when I got through to Plusnet customer services (online chat) they told me they would not raise a ticket for me as they do not consider trials as part of normal service!  Someone at Plusnet please confirm that this is not the case!?  Angry Embarrassed Shocked

Yeah that's not right, apologies. I'll give them a telling off on your behalf.

I see a few cut outs here. However, a bit of consistency other than yesterday afternoon. Are you ok to keep monitoring for now, and if these cut outs increase, are you ok to let me know?

Had another connection drop today starting around 1019 hrs, with a red LED on the BT modem at the LOS position.
This is still a problem now, even after powering off the BT openreach modem for 20 mins.

Re: FTTP (trial) recent connection drops (Bradwell Abbey)

I don't want to appear smug (honestly), but I am also on "the Plusnet FTTP Trial" on Bradwell Abbey and have not noticed any problems.  In fact, I have had only one outage in almost 5 years.
I don't suppose this helps you very much, but it does show that it is not the whole of Bradwell Abbey.
Good luck.

Re: FTTP (trial) recent connection drops (Bradwell Abbey)

Hi Peter,
Yes I had had a stable connection for a long time prior to July 2015, too.  I am guessing my connection is through a card at the local exchange which has developed a fault - possibly a tendency to overheat.
