Clarification on Full Fibre Availability

I’m aware that our area is in the process of being upgraded to Full Fibre, according to the checker, Part Fibre is only available to my property (which is connected to a pole that only services a few houses)

After a quick chat with 2 Openreach Engineers who happened to be outside the house today, it appears that the pole that services our houses has been upgraded to Full Fibre “a while back” (I was advised by the engineer that a “cbt” has been installed on the pole, and their software showed that pole was ready to supply full fibre) - however, after speaking with other neighbours that is connected to the same pole, it appears that only 1 house is showing on the checker as being available to order full fibre to the property.

Any ideas?

@mynyddwr

A Connectorized Block Termainal (CBT) looks something like the following. The number of ports depends on the number of properties served.

If one property on the pole shows that WBC FTTP is available but the others don't then it sounds like an OR Database error. You can either wait to see if a staff member picks up this thread or phone the PlusNet Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632 to see what they say.

A staff member can submit an ORDI request - OpenReach Database Integrity check.

@mynyddwr If you put your phone number into this link: https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL , do you see 'WBC FTTP' anywhere in the left-hand column.

If you want further advice, post a screen shot o the full  page, including the narrative at the foot, but obscure you phone number.

Many thanks for clarifying what a CBT is Brian.

Yes, one of these has been installed on to the pole.

If a staff member hasn’t picked this up, I’ll call up the telephone number you’ve provided.

Many thanks John/Krusty for the response, I can’t seem to attach the screenshot, but FTTP isn’t showing as available on that.

Re: Clarification on Full Fibre Availability

@mynyddwr If the pole has a CBT, all the properties connected to it should be able to get FTTP. Obviously, the OR database is not up to date. I would use the number given and ask PN to investigate.

@mynyddwr

There is a restriction on new members attaching / showing images. I think you may now be clear having posted 3 times. To show an image inline click on the icon that looks like this PN Icon.JPGTo attach a file click on the like below the reply window.

I would use the Address version of the Checker to identify which property can get FTTP so you have "evidence" of availability. It will almost certainly be quicker to phone if you're in a hurry for Full Fibre.

Re: Clarification on Full Fibre Availability

@bmc   if you check out the Openreach website and enter your postcode then pick out your address https://www.openreach.com/   does it show as available or planned?

If it shows available, then there is still work to be done on the exchange to connect to ISP's before it is shown as available on the BTW checker.

You just need a little patience and keep chacking until you see it is available on the BTE checker before placing an order.
