Can't access Router homepage?

ten minutes ago I accessed my routers homepage to reboot it.

Now I can't access it, it says "Access to the hub manager now requires a secure HTTPS connection  - Switch to HTTPS (button)

Click the button, nothing happens.

Yes you can access it. Just continue as browser describes: Hub Warning (plus.net)

Re: Can't access Router homepage?

Are you a little bit simple? First, that's not even the same message.  Second, which part of "Click the button, nothing happens" did you not understand Huh

@cjwinternet

can you access the router if you use https://192.168.1.254/ directly ( and accept the certificate security warning )

Re: Can't access Router homepage?

It's got nothing to do with the security warning.  It's literally the image that I attached again below.

Edit, I fixed it

I understand that, I was suspecting that the browser wasnt handling the router generated force switch url and so suggested entering the https: url directly to eliminate the force switch link as the problem

Err...

Which is exactly the matter addressed! 🤣

Good! What was the fix? It might be useful to know.

No, you tried to address what would happen in the NEXT screen, when you change protocol.  It's only then that you would ever get the certificate security warning.

And no, I won't tell you what I did to fix it.

Re: Can't access Router homepage?

I have this problem too - only since some time this afternoon. Plusnet fibre installed yesterday, spent all afternoon configuring devices, ip addresses etc. Went to do some more today, now I get blocked entirely by Edge on Windows (ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED). On Android I get the "switch to https" screen, but the button is not a button. You click on it, and a cursor appears as if you clicked in some plain text. Rather irritating. So if you could share your fix, that would be great.

Re: Can't access Router homepage?

I powered the router down and back up. Then I was able to access it for a little while. Then it hung updating a device icon, and since then it says "took too long to respond" in the browser. Guess the web server is somewhat flaky. When I have some down time I'll reboot it - again...
