Can I get remote activation please?

I'm about to order fibre broadband from you.

I've been just using my phone's 5G as a hot spot for ages now, but I have an ONT here that was previously installed when I was with Virgin fibre.

I've powered the ONT on for the first time in forever and it's got green power light, and green POS light. LOS is unlit. I notice there's a serial number on the unit too which I could provide if needed.

So just wondering if remote activation would be possible? I'm not sure if the checkout system will auto book an engineer visit.

Sounds like remote activation should be the way it goes.

The thing to do is to make sure the ONT is powered up when you place the order. OpenReach do a test to confilrm there is an active ONT before accepting the order.

It should also be quite quick (a few days) once the order is accepted.

Edit : Sorry just saw the bit about Virgin. Were you on their network or using OR's network.

A Virgin Media ONT and RFoG fibre connection only offers a Virgin Media service.

For a Plusnet FTTP connection an Openreach FTTP & Openreach ONT are required.

my ONT is a small rectangle white box and says 'OpenReach' on the front in purple with the SN numbe sticker on the front. Attached picture of identical unit found with google.

Could swear it was virgin media I was with but maybe it was Sky, been a long time.

Shouldn't be any problem then. Just place the order and see what happens.
