Same here. My upload speed increased to around 16Mbps within 12 hours, but I had to reboot the Openreach modem to get an increase in download speed. Then my download speed increased to 56Mbps, and it has now increased to 61Mbps. I measured the line length to my cabinet at around 420m.
I'm currently on Value Fibre, but if PlusNet throws in 80/20 at no additional cost on Extra Fibre when the trial ends, I'll upgrade.

There will be a price increase to keep 80/20, BT charge extra for 80/20 although it isnt a lot more.

BT don't charge extra for 80/20 as such, the extra is for the "unlimited" package, which was upgraded from 40/10 to 80/20 at no charge. So it would not be beyond the realms of possibility for Plusnet to upgrade Extra fibre to 80/20 and keep Value fibre at 40/2 (or maybe 10)

Hi all,
I wasn't aware we'd announced anything at all yet. We are working on a proposition for an option to continue using 80/20 beyond the end of the trial but we'll make a more formal announcement when the time comes.

http://www.thinkbroadband.com/news/5217-talktalk-raises-concerns-over-bt-fibre-pricing.html
So after July 2012 the wholesale cost for 80/20 will increase above that for 40/10 from £14 to £16 plus VAT per month fixed cost
Quote Looking at the retail pricing you can see the reason for the complaint, BT Infinity is being sold for the same price as the ADSL2+ service, even though with no bandwidth costs BT Retail is paying £10.12 extra a month (a promotion from BT Wholesale until 11th July 2012, means BT Retail gets the 80/20 service for the same price as the 40/10 product, i.e. £14 per month).
