Re: new gea test please

yep dlm has kicked in on your line mate thats what it did on my line can tell by the upload im going to leave well alone now no doubt your pings are higher to that is another way to see it puts your line on interleaved and not fast path

Re: new gea test please

I did try on Billion 8800NL, TP Link Router and Plusnet Hub One Router, all same result, my fibre now giving up 79999K Sync Rate. Been like this for 4 years since 2014 until last few days ago - 79.9Mb bang gone down to 77.7Mb Sad

Re: new gea test please

I think DLM does kick in because I believed my cabinet could be in crosstalk now (cabinet fill up) Sad Maybe Gandalf PN Staff will find out for me of why it drop?

Re: new gea test please

@iangilf Very strange and odd. I just swap over to my old fibre router Netgear DGND3700v1 and try this and it get higher sync rate with BT IP Profile of 76.27Mbps. Three router stats below:

Before on Billion 8800NL Router:

Downstream Upstream
Line attenuation (dB): 11.9 0.0
Signal attenuation (dB): Not available on VDSL2
Attenuation rate (kbps): 79920 27465
Connection speed (kbps): 77788 19999
SNR margin (dB): 6.5 15.1
Power (dBm): 12.4 0.9
Interleave depth: 8 1
INP: 49.00 0
G.INP: Enabled Not Enabled

Before on Plusnet Hub One Router:

Downstream Upstream
Line attenuation (dB): 11.2 13.1
Signal attenuation (dB): 11.2 13.0
Attenuation rate (kbps): 78264 26077
Connection speed (kbps): 77735 19999
SNR margin (dB): 6.1 15.0
Power (dBm): 12.4 1.0
Interleave depth: 8 1
INP: 49.00 0
G.INP: Not Enabled Not Enabled

Now running on Netgear DGND3700v1 Router:

Downstream Upstream
Line attenuation (dB): 11.1 12.8
Signal attenuation (dB): 11.1 12.7
Attenuation rate (kbps): 78148 26443
Connection speed (kbps): 78882 19999
SNR margin (dB): 6.1 15.1
Power (dBm): 12.5 0.6
Interleave depth: 8 1
INP: 38.00 0
G.INP: Enabled Not Enabled

Re: new gea test please

@goldenfibre It looks like you're currently in sync at 78.8Mbps looking at a GEA test.

The connection isn't banded though and still shows a profile of 0.128M-80M Downstream, Retransmission Low - 0.128M-20M Upstream, Error Protection Off

It looks like there were a few drops back on the 4th and the sync rate dropped at this time.

There was another drop on the 6th, but since then it seems to be stable and the MTBE errors has gone back up to almost what it was prior to these drops. While I can't give an exact cause for this, I imagine the sync drop is related to the few connection drops on the 4th.

Re: new gea test please

Many thanks Harry for this. Will kept an eyes on my current 78meg with Netgear router for now. The reason of drop because I turn off router for 30 minutes to swap over router to avoid DLM trigger.

Re: new gea test please

That just proves dlm is a bad thing for people mostly uve turned off your modem router for 30 minutes and it this there's a problem with your line they should do away with dlm or at least make it so it's not so easy for it to be activated

Re: new gea test please

@goldenfibre's change in speed is not the DLM's doing! The DLM has not lowered the speed due to crosstalk. It does not work like that. The increased crosstalk has lowered the speed.

Re: new gea test please

people dwell on crosstalk now as everthing but it isnt the cabs are more than capable of sustaining maximum sync rates bt engineer proved that with my faults its the copper pair thinning out or degrading they swapped me on to a different pair and still the same cab and port and my stats have shot up so dont dwell or use crosstalk always as the fault

Re: new gea test please

I wasn't aware @goldenfibre's line ever changed to using interleaving rather than retransmission.

Re: new gea test please

im over 140 meters away by the estimated line length of golden fibres  and i get full sync now cause ive been put on a better quality pair has nothing to do with crosstalk its about the quality of pair and about dlm not interfeering not crosstalk as i went threw the same as what golden fibre is going threw and its definately a cable pair issue with dlm and definately not crosstalk

also my stats now are

  Upstream Downstream
Current Rate (kbps) 20000 79987
Max Rate (kbps) 31790 86303
SNR Margin (dB) 12.7 7.5

Errors (pkts) 110 4

as i swapped modem router and im not even syncing at full speed now so it can depend on routers aswell
