Unlimited Fibre v Unlimited Fibre Extra

Hello

I am currently on Unlimited Fibre and I'm getting around 12mbps on a good day. When Broadband was installed here, the engineer told me the best I could get was around 16mbps with my package. I notice on the PlusNet website Unlimited Fibre is listed as being up to speeds of 36mbps and Extra is up to 66mbps.

My question is: If I upgraded to Extra, would I get any increase in speed (i.e. is my speed capped?) or am I currently at the maximum speed due to distance from the exchange/fibre cabinet/amount of lines in use?

Re: Unlimited Fibre v Unlimited Fibre Extra

Your speed is determined by the distance to your cabinet - so unless you move your house closer you won't get any faster speeds.

You can check what you are getting and should be getting by entering your number in the DSL Checker.

Yeah, the house won't budge, I've tried.

Thanks for the reply, I suspected as much but just wanted confirmation..
