Speed degradation

I've been with Plusnet for some time now and a while back I took the FTTC option with the view to improving my gaming abilities. (Didn't improve my skill level though
)
However over the last few weeks I've noticed a degradation in speed. It's actually getting to the level of not actually being able to play/connect. Has there been a change at my exchange or with the settings on my account? Or is it simply a traffic management thing?
