Hi, I currently with Talk Talk Business Fibre and do a good amount of Pc FPS Gaming, For what ever reason the pings/latency has doubled over the last few month so i'm out of contract now so looking around for a new ISP, so just curious as to what peoples average pings are when doing speed tests etc on Plusnet Fibre.
Thanks

There's quite a few customer TBB ping graphs running which you can see here: https://community.plus.net/t5/custom/page/page-id/_PingGraphs
At any given moment in the universe many things happen. Coincidence is a matter of how close these events are in space, time and relationship.

It sounds like interleaving has been activated on your line for whatever reason. This adds around 8ms to your ping times. A few days ago after the BTO chap had fiddled with the line the ping to BBC was 19ms, now it is 11, which it always is unless the aggregator thing is having a bad day. Yeah I think that is the case, but line is solid and only happened after the BTOR guy was messing with my Cab, I've rung and emailed Talk talk business Tech support and they just keep coming back the line is fine the speed is fine ! I know BTOR are the only ones who can to a DLM reset to correct it but its such a pain, So was thinking of moving ISP to correct it lol !

Incidentally I don't know about TalkTalk but PN don't recommend their business product for gaming https://community.plus.net/t5/Business/Connection-issue-gaming/m-p/1298079/highlight/true#M2943
But you may not be considering that

In bf4 I hit an ingame ping of 87 from Doncaster to Chicago. To London servers 8 - 12. To Frankfurt 15 - 25.
These are all 64slots.
Package is 80/20 fibre with static (hosting a Linux box with mail / server tools) , 2x smart TV , 4 PC boxes plus mobile devices.
Admittedly pay the additional 5 quid for priority in the last two months as ingame latency increased 20%. Back to where it was now.
Useage is about 200gb per month.
Hope this helps.
Also more important is if there is a problem, it got sorted.
5 days till end of current contrAct. Im not looking elsewhere unless a faster connection exists but as cable not in my village, not gonna happen.
Nearly forgot, Street cab is 10 mtrs away.

How does the "priority" work on FTTC ?. These are my stats and my cab is at the bottom of my road which is about 100m's. Used to get about 8ms to most things but seems to have gone on to interleaving and TTB wont do much !! Plus used to get speeds of about 73mb but dropped to about 68mb now ! i know its not much but i've always done what i can to get the max out of my line ! before FTTC went in i was running bonded lines with SNR tweaked just to try and get 4 mb lol !

As I understand priority, when the network is load balancing, you are kinda whitelisted from the effects of the balancing. However it works, ingame ping for me to the US has reduced from 110 - 120 to under 95.
Having said that, on Saturday last, I had a service discon for 30 mins, when it came back, I am down to line speed 68 from 77 and ping increase to 110/112.
Not had the chance to investigate yet, but will do today. Just out of contract now with PN, so time to make a call!!
Hope it's not a capacity issue, as BT will be no better.
Will update...

@crose666 you could of course try a gateway hop to see if that helps. However, as you mention your "Line" speed has gone down to 68 - I'm assuming your mean the BT IP Profile for your connection (and the matching Current Line Speed) rather that the throughput results from any old speedtester, then I'd guess that DLM has acted from whatever caused your 30 minute outage. That is not something that an ISP can do/has done of course, so you'd have similar with which ever ISP.
@panda666uk see this article on Traffic Prioritisation second item.
