How long does a line fault take?

I have been without broadband and phone for almost a week.

 

The line is totally dead - no phone and obviously no broadband.

 

Of course I have launched a ticket for this, but it's stood at the "We'll look into it" stage that it first put up all week.

 

So how long is normal to even get a reply?

Thanks for your patience, I'm really sorry nobody has updated you.

Testing has identified an external fault on the line which has been raised to Openreach for further investigation.

They have advised the estimated time for response is the end of the day on the 7th.

Many thanks for the reply.

 

At least that gives me a time-scale and that it is being looked into.

 

Guess I'll just have to hammer my tethered phone for another weekend. (If they put up with such abuse?)
