For several years I have had my server in the NTP Pool which scores each server to decide whether is is included in the pool or not. Although my score sat at 20 (the maximum) for months on end, for the last couple of years, it has become erratic.
All the negative scores are due to timeouts detected by the monitoring station that has a limit of 3 seconds.
When I investigated at the beginning, I tried different server HW and OS, I tried different routers and directly to modem, without seeing any improvement.
Recently I have notice some variation with different gateways, but not to the extent tjat any work fine.
I am left wondering if there is anything in the PN network or its routing to LA that could be causing this - I can't see where else the problem could be...
