I hope you can help or tell me if this is as good as it gets.
I switched to PlusNet fibre on Monday 19th. I am using an ASUS N66U and I can see I am syncing at ~12Mbps down, 2Mbps up. I was expecting in the region of 37Mbps down.
On ADSL I was syncing at ~10Mbps down, and 1Mbps up.
Is it possible I am still on the ADSL profile? Or am I just too far from the cabinet to achieve higher?
Thanks in advance.

We've seen a few people using the ASUS modem who have had issues. Is it possible for you to swap over to the Openreach modem to see if that that's any better?

The connection issues overnight were due to a power issue and a red herring - I have yet to figure it out having been out all morning but noticed at 7am. The 7am-9am uptime was on BT modem and PlusNet router; the connection since 9am on the DSL-N66U via the DSL port / no BT modem.
FWIW The N66U was synched up all yesterday afternoon, after I had discovered its config problem 4pm. Right up until something somewhere in the house fused at bedtime.
Both on the BT modem & PlusNet router in the morning, and on the N66U in the afternoon, I was still getting ~12Mbps.
[I really don't want to derail my own thread so this is just in case it help others - if you're having problems getting a DSL-N66U in VDSL mode to authenticate (ie DSL up, but no internet) I found I needed VLANs enabled... who knew]

Our testing is showing a potential external issue on the line.
I'm raising that for you now and a engineer should go out to investigate the line in the next 48 to 72 working hours.

I noticed an openReach engineer was in a duct most of Friday, and the service was patchy all day, and the service went down at 9am Saturday for half an hour and again at lunchtime, so assume some work was done. Still only getting ~12mbps though.

It might be the case that DLM has already intervened multiple times and going back to the Openreach modem won't make any difference until DLM determines your line stable enough.
Plusnet should be able to see what's going on by doing a line check.

The last two drops were me testing your line. No change in terms of speed, so we're now just waiting for BTw to get back to us.

Thanks for arranging the openReach visit. The engineer has just been and has installed a new master socket, reset DLM and the line is now syncing at 25Mpbs - he showed me on his tester kit.
However he thinks there may be a profile issue as when running a speedtest on a laptop via an ethernet cable patched directly to the Speedtouch router I am only getting 13.6Mbps. This is with WiFi disabled on the router and no other ethernet connection to the router so absolutely nothing else on the network. So something is dropping the speed; either the OpenReach modem, phone cable, Speedtouch router or authentication/profile.
I ruled out the laptop and Ethernet cable as being the cause of the speed drop, as I get exactly the same result on my PC over Powerline and on my phone via WiFi.
