Fibre disconnecting every time someone phones

we had fibre fitted a few months ago and ever since when we get phoned we lose connection to the internet. When it was fitted and we first had the problem we swapped out the filter for a new one so that's not the issue. No-one vsited the house when it was fitted and i wonder if it's a problem with the face plate as many people tell me they had a new one fitted when they upgraded to fibre.

 Any help would be appreciated.

@mikevlawrence  Welcome to the forum.

If you remove the front from the master socket, you may need to remove two screws, you will find the test socket in the rear section. If you plug your filter in here it will bypass the faceplate so you can check this out.

Have you tried a different phone in case it's a handset fault?

We replaced the phones a month ago. Unfortunately plugging it in direct did not make a difference. Do you have any other ideas?

@mikevlawrence

If the fault is still present when plugged in to the test socket it sounds like you might have an impedance fault outside of your property.

I would report a fault at https://faults.plus.net.
