DNS/Routing issues for the last 36 hours

Having trouble getting to a lot of sites this morning. On new network on a 147x IP. Bouncing my PPP connection didn't help. Have had to switch to 4G data on my phone to type this.

Yeah a lot of things loading slowly here (like imgur), can't even get to speedtest.net

www.speedtest.net took too long to respond.

Kind of makes you wonder what the root cause is here.  From my perspective I think there could be two possibilities:

The core network is unstable due to hardware or software defects.  I also wonder whether the complexity of Plusnets network compared to others is it's achilles heel.

Someone is applying changes to try and improve things without applying proper configuration management.

@bobpullen - Please can we have some technical detail here so I can understand whether it's worth hanging around any longer for this to get resolved. I think you should also refund this months subscription as this level of service isn't acceptable.

eve online launcher Gui cannot load

mail and plus.net is fine , but that's about it

Same here - random failures to connect - bbc, yahoo, government gateway

Can't connect at all here most of the time. Very random. All was good until soon after 8am.

Is it sites external to the PN network as all google sites are loading flawlessly for me

Everything else is failing but youtube works perfectly 😐

The problem appears to be spreading across the network. I was unaware of the issue until today when it began to affect my line. Here are some tracert results:-

As with others' experiences, some of the sites I visit are seemingly unaffected but most appear to be generally unreachable or at the very least unusable.

I have the same this morning as everyone else. I changed to Googles DNS servers - same problem.

Same problem here and email is also down.

Patchy access to websites - some working, some not (including my own!) but when checked with the "Is It Down" sites are showing up and running.

Oh well, time to flip a coin between Sky and BT.

Never had issues with BT in the past and my friends on Sky never seem to have issues either. Seems like you can't really go wrong with either.

I'm having issues since 8 am. Timeouts or long loading times on sites like facebook or imgur. Pingdom also reported 10 11 outages since then.

This is an update to the previous post regarding an issue affecting some customers causing them to be unable to access some online sites and services. Unfortunately we're receiving reports this morning of customers having similar problems.

Our engineers are investigating this issue and we'll provide an update later today.
