I thought that initially from your post of the Greenby dashboard.

ICBW but I believe the 'free/bundled' status means that its free with the email product. Since the email product is free for two  years , so will the basic webspace. Its just that the webspace is renewed annually, hence the renewal date a year from now.

I'm hoping to get some clarification from staff close to the migration

How do I check if I'm on Hostopia or not.

I think I originally setup my webspace with cgi with some php scripts.

How do I check if I'm on Hostopia or not

Login to your Plusnet account and check your webspace settings ( its here https://www.plus.net/my.html?action=mywebsite )

If you have cgi webspace it will show two icons , one for 'standard webspace; and one for 'Plusnet hosting (CGI)'

If you have the 2nd then your cgi webspace is on Hostopia

I'm not sure you do have cgi webspace, an nslookup of ccgi.<youraccount>.plus.com doesn't resolve , if you have cgi space it should!

I've just had a look and I have a standard web space icon and a PlusNet hosting (CGI) icon.

I don't seem to be able to log into the CGI though with any user name or password that I have used on my PlusNet account.

Do I assume that because the icon is there that I have the CGI.

That would confirm you have cgi space. The username for cgi portal access is ccgi.<accountname>.plus.com but the password can be different to the normal account password

I just went to that page again and now the CGI icon is no longer there.

Just had email back from greenby.

I have just replied to Greenby with the following to try and get a full understanding of what service we are actually getting.

Thanks for the information.

I understand that the email is free for the next two years and is renewable on the 24-09-2028 at a current cost of £12.50 per year.

The web hosting you say is on the free/bundled web hosting package but in the billing section of your website it states a renewal date of 23-09-2027 which is in one years’ time, will this carry on as free/bundled from this date? Or will it remain freely bundled with the email in which case should the renewal date not coincide with the email renewal.

The domain registration shows a renewal date of 23-09-2026 with a cost of £7.00 per year, so is this now due because there was no mention of this additional cost from PlusNet.

Can also clarify the IP address because when I try it I just get a htdocs folder with nothing in it. Please see attached Greenby8.PNG

@IanfLowe that could be due to what @plusnettony raised ?

Isnt the webspace for the hosted domain and the native <account>.plus.com the same !! Its just the DNS for the hosted domain needs configuring ?  

I could access your website yesterday but not today!

I really don't know I think I will have to wait a few days to see if they get everything configured correctly.

I can get on my website using my domain name ok I just cant get on it using the new IP address (91.204.210.10) they tell me its moved to. And I can't get on the webpage from the IP address (212.159.9.91) that I had when on PlusNet.

Now they have expired my domain without any correspondence about it and how to pay the £7 fee they show to register it.

Why did PlusNet not inform use about these fees. Fed up with this company already.
