Treated like dirt.

I have been with PlusNet for serval years, one thing over the years you will find out, is staff lying to you:

Cutting your internet off when late with a payment, then the staff denying it and  telling you it was your end (plus other similar things where they will ALWAYS blame you and DEFEND the company).

I once asked if it was legal for them to restrict and block my use of sites when I was late as <24hr with payment and they said they would have someone ring me about it once, but it never happened.

The above is from the past, but today I was trying to renew my contract and the waiting time was 40min, that is insane for a so called " Award Wining " company.

So I rang another number and got through in about 5+ mins, the women I spoke to said the 40+ min weight was due to all the staff being called in a meeting or something (so you think one off), then she said she can pass me through to a person to speak about renewing my contract, so I said will it still be 40 min, she said no, I was just speaking (something to these words) to someone over there and it is about 2 mins. so after waiting 20 mins on the phone, NOTHING so I hung up.

So clearly she was lying, probably on both counts.

Me thinking out load here:

I believe who ever controls (big share holders) the CEO's as them do this so that people will leave and join another provider, if not, there useless at there job.

Re: Treated like dirt.

@Chris01 I'm sorry you feel badly treated Chris but most suppliers will restrict service if their bill is not paid whatever the explanation. I know that PN staff will certainly help someone in difficulty (they did for one of our community group) but they cannot chase up every overdue bill. PN has 1.4 million customers so most must be serviced automatically even though the PN accounts system causes many problems.

PN does give ample notice of contract renewal, and if you have missed your final contract payment you will be charged full rate until you set up a new one. PN is a budget company which has provided me with excellent service and excellent value for many years, but then I have kept to their rules especially payment on time. It's a bit like Ryanair, it's cheap as long as you stick to their conditions. If you need individual attention perhaps you should switch to another ISP and expect to pay much more. Good luck!

Re: Treated like dirt.

Dude, paying your bills on time pays dividends, I find.
Your failure to ensure you've paid your budget broadband really isn't something you can blame your ISP for.
Neither can you blame them for stopping a service you openly admit you didn't pay for as you'd agreed.
This really seems more like a tantrum and a you problem than you being treated like dirt.

Re: Treated like dirt.

The first 2 reply's to this do nothing, also they seem to be silent about this bit of my post:

" So I rang another number and got through in about 5+ mins, the women I spoke to said the 40+ min weight was due to all the staff being called in a meeting or something (so you think one off), then she said she can pass me through to a person to speak about renewing my contract, so I said will it still be 40 min, she said no, I was just speaking (something to these words) to someone over there and it is about 2 mins. so after waiting 20 mins on the phone, NOTHING so I hung up.

So clearly she was lying, probably on both counts. "

And the above is why I posted on here today in the first place, and what have I got in reply so for, trolling, belittling.

Re: Treated like dirt.

What you call "lying" may well be talking to someone who doesn't have enough information to answer you.

So, a promise of less than 40 minutes may well be their honest understanding of the size of the queue.

They don't know how long each call will last, especially if they were all people going into long conversations about why they are late in paying their bills.

Re: Treated like dirt.

Even though she was very polite, I believe she said what she said because she is told to.

so I said will it still be 40 min, she said no, I was just speaking (something to these words) to someone over there and it is about """ 2 """ mins. "

What I found odd, is the speed she answered my questions, she was just reading of a script.

And when in a que you can here a blip every few mins, like when they have dealt with one caller and then go to the next, I heard about 8 of these blips.
