@mike600 See my follow up earlier. Switchover is booked and was confirmed, although Openreach messaged yesterday to reschedule it to a later date.

'When are you willing to discuss options?"

My wife is having surgery in a few days. I can't commit to an engineer visit until some time after that, because everything is a bit up in the air until we see how her recovery goes and what follow-up is needed. Anything I book now will likely have to be rearranged.

Anyway I managed to speak to somebody and got the 7 day pause stopped.

Obviously, deliberate suspension of service would be a breach of contract so it is an empty threat. Such a threatening email shows the contempt BT has for customers as they absorb Plusnet, and serves as a warning to seek alternative providers. We ought to be told who in the organisation thought such a threatening email was a responsible way to have customers make contact.

BT expands trial that pauses broadband for stalled Digital Voice switchers

https://koa-group.com/news/bt-digital-voice-broadband-pause-trial-2026/

BT is expanding a trial that temporarily pauses a customer's broadband, while keeping their landline running, for anyone who still hasn't switched from an old analogue phone line to its Digital Voice service, as reported by ISPreview. BT says more than 95% of its landline customers have now made the move, with the old PSTN network due to switch off on 31 January 2027.

The pause was first tested on a small group of customers who had ignored letters, emails, texts and calls for up to 2 years. BT's Consumer Digital Voice Director, Lucy Baker, said the trial prompted more than 80% of that group to get in touch and take the steps needed to switch, and the approach is now being rolled out to everyone who hasn't yet engaged, with advance warning and additional support offered first.

You really are determined to miss the point here.
