Re: Warning email: fake?

That incorrect and lying statement is their way of, impolitely, 'stressing' the importance of the action. I'm so glad I left when I did, because if I hadn't....

To be honest, I've been waiting for a combination of things: one was the Greenby migration, the second involved a way for Openreach to do an installation without having to do some convoluted process to get into the flat. Both have been done now.

So now is the time to make a decision on how you wish to proceed.

Having split Broadband and Phone services means that you have been paying the line rental element twice.

Whatever you choose will save you money in the future.

Re: Warning email: fake?

Yes, it didn't endear me to PN!

Staying with them is the easy way out but I recently found another provider that didn't have the built in annual £4/month increase: if only I could it!

All that and yet to be migrated to Greenby with which I am not enamoured.

Are you able to say with whom you went?

@Mardler

As @jab1 has said, the matter is now urgent. You could phone the PlusNet Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632 to see what is available with PN.

Zen Internet doesn't have annual price increases but is not the cheapest. If you're still in contract then you may suffer an Early Termination Charge.

If your PN email matters to you and hasn't been migrated then you'd lose it if you move.

Re: Take action to avoid Disruption. Legit or Spam?

@Baldrick1 Yeah, I'm aware I need to make a decision thanks - it's been on my To Do list now that the Greenby migration has finally happened. I've got a lot going on at the moment so was going to make arrangements in a couple of weeks once I'm back from a family holiday and around for any engineer. However, looks like the issue is going to be forced earlier and at a less convenient time.

I needed to vent about the way it's been done though - both the tone of the email, but also that it only went to my non-Plusnet mail, not both as usual for Plusnet communications (not that there are many of those these days).

I went to Zen 5.1/2 years ago, when changes in the 'support' functionality on the forum made it obvious the dead hand of the BT Group was being applied to Plusnet.

@Mardler

If you are looking to change ISP, then also take into consideration if moving to an AltNet FTTP provider is a possibility ?.

Many areas in the UK can now get FTTP from non-Openreach networks, often at lower cost and better speeds,

also many AltNet's will pay off your existing ISP's contract early exit fees as a sweetener to join their network.

@john_chandler

If you place an order for Full Fibre it freezes your line so, for exxample, PN can't move you to EE.

Once an order for FF is placed and OR accept it, you get a text which, among other things, allows you to delay the install to a date suitable to you.

Re: Warning email: fake?

@Mardler as with the Greenby migration, communication has been really poor on this changeover. I'm not even sure they've taken into account people were waiting for things like email migrations before making the next step, unless this sudden surge of overly dramatic emails is because migrations have happened.

More likely that ISPs are trying to complete all PSTN migrations before Christmas, which is only 53 working days away.

I see that Aquiss ISP has already completed their migrations -

        ThinkBroadband : Aquiss has switched off its last FTTC connection

Re: Warning email: fake?

@ExForce9 Funny thing is, it took years to get OpenReach to sort out FTTC on our street because we got missed out when they did the work years ago. Something about the buildings not existing, which was news to the residents! The next problem was that, until recently, OpenReach were telling us they could only connect the ground floor flats. Aren't monopolies great? 😉

You are being encouraged to make a decision (on options) now, but you can ask for an installation date at a time to suit you.  I ordered FTTP for one of my referrals in early September for installation on the 8th October.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: Take action to avoid Disruption. Legit or Spam?

Is there any way I can get the temporary pause on the service stopped without phoning? I've tried twice now and the person on the line was completely inaudible, like it was a bad mobile connection or something. I'm not wanting to discuss options at the moment, just ensure I don't lose my broadband for 7 days.
