Static IP

Ordered a static IP when I signed up. Haven't got one! Had to open chat on X/Twitter who said they had fixed it but they haven't. I still have a dynamic IP. When I eventually found the option to set one up again it said there was an error and I couldn't do it from my account anymore and would have to call a number or use X/Twitter.

I'm going round in circles with this terrible level of support

Are there any CSRs in here or am I wasting my time?

Also this username bears no relation to my new account yet there seems no way to rename it or even delete this account (GDPR rule!) so I can set up a new one.

We're a quarter of the way through the 21st century! Come on Plusnet

Re: Static IP

There are no PN staff on here after 8PM, no.

Hopefully, one of them will pick this up tomorrow,although it may take a while - they are a bit thin on the ground.

I will tag a couple of forum members who may be able to assist a bit quicker.

@Townman , @MisterW ?

Re: Static IP

Thank you!

Yeah I was posting this for the morning really, but glad to hear they have a presence here.

Really frustrating trying to connect with my VPN when the IP changes randomly 🙄

@jab1

Nothing much fellow customers can do here. Right answer is to pick up the phone and call the support desk.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

The forum name can be changed by sending a PM to any of the mods detailing the new name and, as long as it adheres to the Forum Rules, the change can be actioned.

Re: Static IP

I run a script on a Raspberry Pi that uses cPanel to update my dynamic IP.
You could use a service like No-IP that takes your dynamic IP address and points it to a static hostname or subdomain.
