@MJN Thanks for the long explanation - which I shall read later when I have had my coffee and woken up a little more. 😉
I appreciate what you are saying, but it is strange how (apparently - I haven't checked myself), nine out ten geolocation databases have this range as being in the UK - not US. No matter, I don't have the inclination to argue.

I haven't read the whole thread but I did see iplocate.io mentioned - are they the odd one out? If so, they (and others will have this too - data accuracy is what all geolocation providers strive for) have a page for network operators telling them how to get in touch to correct their data. I am confident that Plusnet themselves would be easily able to reach the bar of being able to demonstrate authority to provide this information.

Yes - that is the rogue. I understand Plusnet are attempting to get this sorted, but what they are doing, I don't know.

Disney+ has gone back to showing me as UK, netflix hasn't, so hopefully something is happening behind the scenes.

iplocate.io now shows that the IP registration is in the UK so it looks as though things have been resolved, Disney and Paramount are now working for me, hopefully Netflix will catch up at some point.

Hopefully. If not, bear in mind that there are many more IP geolocation databases and Netflix may be using yet another one, that hasn’t been checked.
If you look at the iplocate web site, they advertise that Paramount is a customer.

I concur, IP still showing in the 150.143 range but iplocate.io and Disney+ recognising as in the UK. Netflix still doing it's own thing though and fast.com still things I live in Minneapolis. At least it looks like progress is being made.

I just logged onto fast.com. Look in bottom right corner. It says “powered by Netflix”. And that still show me being in Minneapolis.
So maybe that’s the database Netflix uses (if fast.com run and IP database???)

It may be correct, but it's a big step to presume that because a speed tester site is associated with a streaming site that either has/runs a geolocation database.

As has been shown with iplocate, Plusnet are busy and one at least has been corrected.

@Lindakilpartick What is your public IP address -this site will tell you: https://www.whatismyip.com/
There is a problem with Netflix/Disney and others using incorrect IP geolocation data, which is under investigation.

Just checked and it looks like I'm back on Netflix UK. Fast.com is also showing UK location now. So hopefully everyone else is back to normal now. At least I got to watch some US only movies before it switched back ![]()

My ip is showing up as UK on Fasthosts too.
My Netflix is half fixed.
My wife’s account, the visitor account and my Mums profile on my account all back to normal.
But my account , the main account , has still not got all the content back. I am guessing it’s because I was logging in and out constantly over the last week trying to get it sorted.
Hopefully a couple of days and it’s all back to normal.
