Safeguard not working in Safari Private windows

Safeguard does not block sites that it should do in Safari private windows. Works fine in a chrome incognito window. So surely this is a safeguarding issue. Any child could simply open a private safari window to browse any site.

I suspect it's an iOS17 'feature'.

Seems Apple have taken to routing your DNS requests via their own servers in certain configurations.

If so, this will negatively affect any filtering solution that replies on DNS (of which Plusnet Safeguard is one).

Thanks for the response, Bob. There are ways around it I guess, like using iOS content restrictions to disable private browsing. I don’t recall having this issue with parental controls with BT broadband before.
