Hi - need assistance on VPN / Remote desktop...

Have a plusnet hub one - delivered this week - all works behind the firewall, including Remote desktop and VPN but am unable to access home network remotely... i.e. port forwarding appears not to work..

As far as I can tell, It is set up correctly on the hub.. I have a static IP address - what might be the problem?Huh

Any help appreciated

Hi Roonie,

Is the static IP address you refer to the LAN static IP address or a Plusnet assigned WAN static IP address?

You will need both.

If the VPN works in the LAN are you using a 192.168.1.x IP address to connect to it?

I do not use a Hub One router but I *think* I have read on these forums that port forwarding can be problematic, if the routers ship server is not used to assign the LAN IP address.

To keep the same LAN IP address after a router reboot etc, address reservation can be used.

Sorted.... Kaspersky firewall had blocked the ports!!!
