Plus.net down?

The webpages loads but after a couple of seconds it then changes to

"

Unfortunately we’ve hit a problem

Sorry about this. Looks like something's stopped working.

We're busy working behind the scenes and we'll be up and running as quick as we can, so please try again later.

"

Anyone aware of the issue?

Thanks

Kev

... not working here  : /

The main www.plus.net address goes swiftly to signup - insert your postcode - and then to this:

20261001-1917pm-pn-main-page.jpg

... timed at 19.17pm, so just after you posted, randomly.

Guessing someone's trying stuff out with the portal setup, maybe.

@kev2025

www.plus.net is still out, from here - what link are you using, that's working (?)

Re: Plus.net down?

I just type in plus.net and it then changes to https://www.plus.net/broadband/home/

Page stays loaded for me now.

Wonder if it is related to the fact that anyone with a PN account is 'redirected' from the sign-up page to a slightly different one? Although I've been left over 5.1/2 years, because I made my email 'standalone', I'm still technically a PN 'customer' - even though my mail has been transferred to Greenby.

Re: Plus.net down?

@Penny  do you have access to a VPN or a mobile data WiFi hotspot  ?,

if so you can test @jab1 's correct observation that www.plus.net behaves differently depending on whether you are accessing that page from a Plusnet IP address, or from 'outside' the Plusnet address pool.

FWIW, I can access the www.plus.net page from both a non-Plusnet broadband account, and via a VPN, unfortunately I don't have access to a Plusnet connection today to do any further tests.

Re: Plus.net down?

@ExForce9 I am accessing from outside the PN address pool, but as I said, I still have a PN mail address, even though it is transferred to Greenby. Wonder what will happen December 7th, when that address lapses?

Re: Plus.net down?

@jab1  can you believe that it was May 2022 when you were last involved in a similar discussion !

https://community.plus.net/t5/Plusnet-Feedback/Plusnet-website-is-offline-Sunday-29-May-2022/td-p/18...

Unfortunately all the screenshot images in that topic were deleted when the OP became anonymised !

Re: Plus.net down?

Now you mention it, I very vaguely recall it. I seem to remember I did a bit of ferreting and found that using my iPad on mobile data, not being logged into the forums, presented me with the 'potential customer' page.

Re: Plus.net down?

The last time this happened it depended on which browser I was using.

The same thing is happening again. I can access www.plus.net using firefox & chrome, but not when using edge.

The page loads initially for about a second, but then I get the same error page as Penny.

No VPN and don't know much about mobile data WiFi hotspots : /

However turned off wifi on phone (iphone6) and got the broadband options page.

Re-enabled wifi (PN) and still got the broadband options page.

Just tried again with the desktop (PN connection).  Using Edge, got the issues page.

Using FF, got the broadband page.

Tried Edge again, just to check - and got the broadband page  Smiley

So I'm guessing someone's been working on adding a "why not sign up with us" initial screen on the portal, and that it's taken a while to get that working across all the different modes of accessing.

Looks pretty good.

With everything else that's been going on, good to see PN using the landing page on the portal to rather better effect.

Whoever's designed this has done a good job, visually.

Hopefully there'll soon be an influx of new - and returning - customers, to balance out all those being siphoned off elsewhere because of the landline-related changes etc.

Re: Plus.net down?

There is something weird going off here. The only way I can get the page you display above, @Penny , is to not be logged in to the forum when I open my browser. I am using the current version of Firefox on all my kit - Zorin 18.1 on the laptop, iPhone ioS 26.7 on the iPhone 12, iPad OS on the iPad Air (5th Gen).
