PAC mobile

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone is able to help me. I’m aware that Plusnet mobile is now closed and my sim is currently ceased as I’m unable to make calls and texts. I was wondering if it is possible to get my PAC number as I would like to keep my current mobile number when switching to a different provider? Or would it be too late to do
so?

Re: PAC mobile

@Volkswagen1 Thank you for reaching out to us, I hope you are well.

I don't believe the Plusnet sim card would be of any use as our Mobile department has been fully closed a while back, however, should you wish to try, please follow this process to get a PAC Code sent to you via SMS text message:

Text PAC to 65075 to receive a PAC Code from Plusnet.

If you don't receive any message back within the hour, we can conclude that your number has been fully deactivated.

I hope this helps.

Re: PAC mobile

I doubt it, as the request is tied to the number on the SIM making the request.

Re: PAC mobile

@Volkswagen1

The number is allocated to a SIM card. If you send the PAC code from a SIM with a different phone number allocated, then you will get the PAC code for that number.

PAC and STAC codes request text numbers are specified by Ofcom so are common across all providers.See: https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-and-broadband/switching-provider/switching-mobile

Looking at the Ofcom 'Right to cancel' clause, you have a month from when the Plusnet service was cancelled to request the transfer of the number. My guess would be that the number has returned to EE, potentially for future re-use.
