New plusnet customer

Good morning all ,i am a new user of plusnet and have signed up for full fiber 145 ,my router is connected and all of my  wi fi accessories .

I have tried to download the Plusnet protection which takes me to the Norton protection site , i thought i was entitled to 2 years free protectionBUT Norton want £147;99 for protection ,sureley this cannot be right ?

part of my sign up deal was also a £50 gift card ,no news on that either ,starting to feel i have made a big mistake here,.

Plusnet customer services have been absolutley useless ,one operator told me that Plusnet protection was NOT included anymore with Full Fiber 145 ,i told her to look at her own web page  ,

Any help would be greatfull recieved

Re: New plusnet customer

@combiman1 welcome.

There's an ongoing investigation into why Plusnet protect is not showing as free https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Order/Plusnet-Protect/m-p/2029583

part of my sign up deal was also a £50 gift card ,no news on that either ,

You should get an email within 10 working days after your connection has gone live, with details on claiming the reward card. Here's a link to the reward card FAQ https://www.plus.net/help/my-account/reward-cards-and-cashback/

Re: New plusnet customer

@combiman1 , welcome to the forums.

The 'Plusnet Protect' using Norton is having problems, although I thought these were solved yesterday - apparently not. Personally, I would not recommend using it -  it is a system hog and very intrusive. The Microsoft security suite installed on your system is totally adequate for the vast majority of home users, and very much lighter.

With regards to the gift card, you should receive an email to collect that within 10 days of activation, but that is also a bit of a flawed operation - check your spam folder as there have been instances where, for some reason, the email is not recognised as legitimate.

EDIT; @MisterW beat me to it.

Re: New plusnet customer

@combiman1  I'm with jab1 on this, I have same setup as yours, I've used MS Defender for yonks and found it very efficient, why pay £££s for programs that don't work as well? Provided that you have registered with MS for the current year's extension of update service, go to Windows Update if you haven't.
