Microsoft Access Database on Plusnet?

Hi Folks
A friend is going to be coding some web pages that require a database. I have told him that my plusnet space has MySQL & CGI available (once activated) but he prefers to use ACCESS. Can you tell me if this is possible on my Plusnet space and if so point me at some information about it? I haven’t found anything during my search so far.

Plusnet's servers are all Linux (not Windows) so no Access database (or anything else Microsoft).
