Is FTTP coming

This week open reach vans have been all over my estate,cand this morning a cherry picker turned up and installed what looked like a ribbed black plastic bottle to my pole with a long black cable coming out of it. Does this mean FTTP is finally coming to my area and how long after this would it be live?Huh

Re: Is FTTP coming

@penfold It does sound as though they are preparing your area for  FTTP - have they also installed the CBT's at the top of the pole(s)? The only way you will know when it is actually available to order is by checking on https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL for 'WBC FTTP' to appear in the left hand column.

I'll take a pic of the pole later.

@penfold

The Connectorized Block Terminal (CBT) on the pole may look something like this.

As stated you just need to do a regular check on the Checker looking for WBC FTTP?

Re: Is FTTP coming

Photos are not that clear, but looks like the middle CBT that @bmc posted.
Was a member for years, but moved from PN fttc to fttp from an AltNet. Getting 940Mb up and down. Happy to stay on here and try to help others. 

I know, [-Censored-] phone camera when zoomed.
I agree but I thought it was more like the first, as the pole serves 10 propertys

@penfold

Well, the good news is it's definitely a CBT so only a matter of time.

If the pole serves 10 properties (? I counted 14 wires) then it'll be a 12 port CBT.

Re: Is FTTP coming

Clearer pictures.

There is also a new wire that links this pole with the one further up the road.

Re: Is FTTP coming

Yep, certainly getting you ready for FTTP deployment . I'd keep your eyes on the checker.

For info, I know when we  were enabled, it was about three weeks from them finishing the cabling to it becoming available to order.
