Installed but not available

So they installed full fibre in my street about 4 weeks ago, and the guy installing told me i should able to order it from my isp within 2 weeks.

but i still cant seem to order it as says not available

does anyone know how long it takes until it goes live and is there a openreach contact to speak to?

Re: Installed but not available

@andycol  What does either https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL  or https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome say ? The gap between installation and availability is variable, but usually a couple of weeks to a month, depending on other work required.

@andycol

Have a look at the following. You're looking for WBC FTTP in the left hand column and "Available" to the right. Below the results window there should also be a narrative about FTTP.

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL

Re: Installed but not available

Be patient - if Openreach (it is Openreach who installed the infrastructure, and not another company?). It can take a while for the systems to be updated.

Re: Installed but not available

In that case, keep checking that link, and as soon as it becomes available, set it up with PN. Note you will lose your phone service, if that is important to you.

Re: Installed but not available

@andycol

It could be there is still work to be done further up the main network before your connection is commissioned. As stated by @jab1 keep checking the Checker.

If a phone service is important to you you'll need to consider VOIP options and be ready to "port" your number asap your FTTP service goes live. You have 30 days to do so.
