Re: I can't figure this out. Two domains, both show the same

I've just had a look at your account, the domain without the hyphen in the name is pointing to the root of the htdocs directory. However due to the timescales involved in DNS updates this may take 4 hours to change once you have made amendments to the DNS settings.

Re: I can't figure this out. Two domains, both show the same

Hi Chris.
Ok, now you know what we're talking about, this is exactly what i want to do.
The domain WITHOUT the hypen is site 1 and uses .html file extensions.
The domain WITH  the hypen is site 2 and uses .php as the extension to each page.
What exactly do I need to do?

Re: I can't figure this out. Two domains, both show the same

The first site, lets call it domain1, will be fine hosted on the homepages servers. These can be accessed via ftp.plus.net and you need to upload files into the htdocs directory.
The second site will need pointing at the cgi space, you can then upload to this via ccgi.plus.net, however as previously advised this can only be from a PN connection. If you want me to sort out domain2 so it points to the ccgi servers just reply here stating this and I'll arrange the domain records for you.

Re: I can't figure this out. Two domains, both show the same

Please Chris, I would be grateful
My concern is that domain1 (hosted currently on the homepage servers) is not working also.
If you could make the site (with the hyphen) pointed at the cgi server then that would be great.
I assume then that I can use Filezilla but only if I am from a plus net connection?
Thanks again.

Re: I can't figure this out. Two domains, both show the same

I'm not entirely sure what's happened to domain1, I'll remove it from our domain system and re-add it. That will recreate all the domain records from scratch and will point the domain to the htdocs folder.
I'll also go point domain2 at the cgi servers, you can use filezilla no problem, that's actually what I use myself.

Cool, thanks
So, even for the CGI server, its my normal username and password?

Re: I can't figure this out. Two domains, both show the same

Yep, unless you've changed this at all.
I've sorted the domain records now, as before I'd wait at least 4 hours before checking.
www.domain1.co.uk will point to www.username.plus.com
www.domain2.co.uk and domain2.co.uk will point to ccgi.username.plus.com
I'll check before I leave tonight for you, and if they haven't updated by then I'll check in the morning too.

Right, I can access the ccgi server and have uploaded domain2 to here into the cgi folder.
Cant see it though.
Any ideas?

Have you tried using www.domainname.co.uk and ccgi.domainname.co.uk

Re: I can't figure this out. Two domains, both show the same

Can you view the site by browsing to ccgi.username.plus.com ?Huh
If so then as I said earlier you will just need to wait for DNS to update before trying to visit www.domain2.co.uk

I've checked www.domain1.co.uk and this is now showing correctly, shouldn't be long for domain2 to update.

Re: I can't figure this out. Two domains, both show the same

Ok, site one works.
I've just uploaded site two but I can only view it from a plus net connection.
I also had to change all the file attributes for each page.
Also, it is outside of the cgi folder.
If I view it at my location, I get redirected.

Re: I can't figure this out. Two domains, both show the same

www.domain2.co.uk is working, I must have missed the DNS update by a fraction because domain2.co.uk (without the www) is still pointing at the homepages servers. I'm certain this will work next update, I'll check in the am and confirm.
