HTTP Error 500

Since the beginning of September I have been unable to load my ccgi webiste at http://ccgi.stephenthompson.plus.com/genealogy/index.php
All I get is an HTTP Error 500.
I have not done anything to the site.
Also I tried to contact Plus Net on Facebook and on 'X', but all I get are messages stating with "Thanks for contacting Plusnet! We’ve received your message and one of our helpful members of staff will be in touch as soon as possible."

Re: HTTP Error 500

@csiatst As webspace is a 'legacy' product, first-line support are highly unlikely to be of any use - they will have had no experience/training.

Maybe @Dan_the_Van could offer some guidance - if he is around?

Re: HTTP Error 500

More likely to need @bobpullen or possibly @plusnettony

Re: HTTP Error 500

Google AI (Gemini) provides this information

An HTTP 500 Internal Server Error is a generic error code that indicates something has gone wrong on the web server's side, but the server couldn't be more specific about the exact problem. This means the issue isn't with your computer or internet connection, but rather with the website's own infrastructure, code, or configuration. Common causes include errors in the server-side code (like PHP, Python, or JavaScript), incorrect file permissions, a corrupted .htaccess file, or issues with a database connection. Essentially, the server encountered an unexpected condition that prevented it from fulfilling the request.

Re: HTTP Error 500

It looks like the problem could be related to a folder called "Quarantine". I've tried to delete the file contained in it but I'm denied. I found this using Filezilla to look at what files are on there. Also, I noticed that PlusNet emails and webspace is being migrated to Greenby.

I can't recall reading any emails about this yet.

Re: HTTP Error 500

@csiatst True, email and (eventually) webspace will be hosed by Greenby. The transfer is being done in stages, the oldest/smallest legacy vISPs first. When you time comes, you will be notified, and webspace etc. will be later.

Dan_the_Van

I think I found the problem. I need to get rid of this file.

@csiatst

I can not assist directly, have you tried Gemini AI, it suggests it can check globallib.php for errors. It would hopefully be able to advise on necessary actions
