Dissappearing topics?

I know strange things are happening on the forum at present, but the topic count on 'Help with my Plusnet Services' is dropping every time I go back to the forum main page. Someone having a Spring Clean' in late Summer?

Re: Dissappearing topics?

Other boards also seem to be shrinking - someone decided to remove 'unflattering' topics?

Re: Dissappearing topics?

Just before I go out - at 1137 the count was 662738, as of now (1246)it is 649327. I presume when I return in a couple of hours it will be down to 9327 - if we are lucky.

Re: Dissappearing topics?

It appears to be the Broadband forum that is dropping by 200-300 messages per minute. But it doesn't appear to be the oldest that are going first, so I don't know what the criteria for culling the messages are.

Neither do I, @corringham , and no-one from the staff or mod side seem interested in commenting - I have my suspicions, but if I voiced them any response would merely be a 'we don't know' mistruth.

Quite the mystery. 🤔

BT? Aliens? Climate change? Elon Musk?

Re: Dissappearing topics?

I would imagine every time the page is refreshed a data base query occurs

Mine at 16:33 30/08

Not sure why there has to be some sort of conspiracy theory about anomalies, stuff happens.

Edit: the number of posts seems to be variable, I doubt they are disappearing, may be depends which host you are connected to (there are four)

Re: Dissappearing topics?

This is not a 'conspiracy theory', @Dan_the_Van  - it is based on observation, but as no-one has come up with an answer, I am going to guess that at least the 'Help with my Plusnet services' set of boards will be displaying about 20 posts by this time tomorrow.

EDIT: the board list I am using as a measure rose in 'number of posts' until around 11AM today, since when it has plummeted.

Re: Dissappearing topics?

Unfortunately, this is probably the most interesting thing that has happened here for some time!

Re: Dissappearing topics?

I very much doubt Plusnet support would see this issue as high priority, helping customer on the forum is way down their list of things to do

Yes I agree it's been pretty dull for some months, I put it down to the summer holiday.

Re: Dissappearing topics?

Plusnet support? who's that, these days, unless you use Twitface, where they can hide responses.
