DSL-AC68U disconnects

Hi,

I've been a customer since 2015 and have used a DSL-AC68U since joining which has always been stable.

My contract was recently due for renewal and before proceeding I was reading through the forums and noticed quite a lot of criticism of the DSL-AC68U.

So when processing my contract renewal I decided to get a Plusnet Hub Two just in case despite not having had any issues with the Asus since 2015.

My contact renewed on 7th September. On the morning of 8th September I woke up to no internet. I spoke with support and they said it was a sync issue which would need an engineer.

I've been away for a long weekend so haven't been able to investigate further. On return the Plusnet Hub Two had arrived so I connected it this evening service is restored.

I'm not completely against replacing the Asus or using the Asus in bridge mode alongside the Plusnet Hub Two but it seems a bit coincidental that it would stop working on the day of renewal.

Any ideas what could have happened to stop it connecting?

Have you changed the account password by any chance ?

The Asus would have stayed connected until the connection dropped. Its possible that the account change forced a drop which meant that the Asus failed to reconnect. The Hub 2 would autoconfigure and get the new password.

 

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.
