Is this Full Fibre you'e talking about or FTTC?
Either way if you order now you should get an appointment before the end of the month, I would suggest you be there on the day just to ensure things go well.

Just in case your elderly mom is receiving any benefits (pension credit etc.) there is the option of a social tariff, which offers usable speeds at a much lower price, and can come with Digital Voice (or VoIP with altnets that offer a social tariff).
I arranged a social tariff with BT for a relative, and it works great for them for just £15pm.
