can account be cancelled before contract end date due to the email transfer

As PN are making such a change to my service can i cancel now without penalty or do i have to wait until my contract ends?

or are PN the only ones who can make changes on their side with impunity?

Basically am i stuck with PN until the end of my contract?

@Mabel If you cancel before the end of your contract, you will be subject to ETC's.

The transfer of the email service is not a valid reason to cancel cost-free.

Typical, the customer gets stuffed again.

So they entice you to join with lots of whistles and bells but then in the small print state that the whistle and bells are not part of the contract so we [plusnet] can do whatever we want and you just have to suck it up and take it.

I don’t mind the cost of the email, it’s just the principle, and they are removing services and causing me hassle.

So it’s not a hassle free smooth nice experience anymore.

Not a one service does it all.

Definitely time to leave. Well at the end of my contract.

I was just about to sign up for full fibre soon as they are putting the cables down at the moment and there have been various leaflets posted through the door stating full fibre is coming.

So I will wait until full fibre actually operational and jump to a new provider.

I assume with the demises of web hosting, phone lines, and now email that the broadband will be next and it will all become BT.

Such a shame.

Not necesarily - at the moment, the Plusnet 'brand' is the bare-bones arm of  the BT Consumer Division, but no-one, not even BT knows what may happen in the future.

kind of looks obvious to me.

I can't recommend PN to anyone anymore.

“Cannot recommend any more?”.

How do you reason that argument?  Plusnet has not offered all the bells and whistles for ages … and neither has any other ISP.  So if you were recommending them last week, why not today?

The email service migration protects the continuity of the mail service for those who have it.  What’s not to like?

Re: can account be cancelled before contract end date due to the email transfer

Also for anyone currently with a broadband connection with Plusnet, the charge for email will not be for another 2 years.  Probably by design, no one will be in their minimum term of their current contract by that point.
