Re: Webmail - Extremely Slow

anybody reading here needs to read another recent/ongoing post - webmail extremely slow - to get the full picture of PN behavior and lack of response. or visit trustpilot/ other referral sites to see evidence.

we all keep asking the same questions, often to get no response at all.

you've been having problems with webmail servers since May this year with no real resolution, just the same non informative msg.....?

1. do you feel this is good enough for your customers?

2. what and when are you really going to do anything but repeat the same old nonsense?

EDIT - just to explain - I posted this response in 5 other similar recently posted questions just to let others know, to see if they even respond, and to raise them all to the top of their list for today.

Re: Webmail - Extremely Slow

PNs mail service has been pathetic for months. Many people complain but no action from PN to solve issues.

I have solved my mail server problems & performance issues by moving my Email accounts to BT Yahoo mail, it's got more functions, slicker to use & no storage capacity issue etc.

bye bye Plusnet

Re: Webmail - Extremely Slow

UPDATE - PN now censoring paying customers on this forum. The comments I made yesterday on other posts to inform other paying customers with the same problems and issues with Plusnet Webmail, have been deleted without any reason or communication from PN. Vanished.....never existed.

What's wrong PN..? Don't you like your paying customers and members of this forum being informative, helpful, honest and open, where you clearly fail and distract?

Still no answers to the 2 questions asked yesterday.

Come on PN, in your words posted on the internet "If you haven’t done so yet we’d be more than happy to help if you’d like to contact our support team, we’re available on our Community Forums(community.plus.net/forum" , come on and talk to us open and honestly, ON THIS FORUM. We're interested in what new info you might have after a good 6 months of the same old, same old.

Or do you intend to continue to IGNORE questions put directly to you by your paying customers? (JonoH & Bob Pullen, it means you too. You're good with responses till you give up or are instructed to give no reply.)

Your response will show your professionalism, responsibility to duty of care, and evidence of your "award winning customer service".

They were deleted by the forum moderators, not Plusnet staff, as they breached the forum rules for cross-posting as per your comments here:

I posted this response in 5 other similar recently posted questions just to let others know, to see if they even respond, and to raise them all to the top of their list for today.

Posting the same thing across multiple threads is against the forum rules, and I can see that you've done the same today which the moderators will no doubt remove shortly.

1. do you feel this is good enough for your customers?

I do apologise for the problems and we do know that webmail being slow can cause issues, however there are other options to access email such as the use of an email client.

2. what and when are you really going to do anything but repeat the same old nonsense?

I can't provide any more information than is available on the service status posts I'm afraid.

Re: Webmail - Extremely Slow

At times Plusnet just leaves me speechless. Particularly now. At other times, I'm just really sad to see a once friendly and, (comparatively), efficient service, now over-commercialised, over-sold and shamefully under-delivered. Plusnet Webmail was my uncluttered alternative to Yahoo mail. Now it is just stubborn, slow, erratic and unfit for purpose. Yet I can't leave, because it would take me forever to notify my contacts, change stationery, etc.

I wrote a letter to Plusnet to persuade them to acknowledge the problem on Service Status. I doubt it was because of me, but they did finally do it a couple of days later. Now, though, the Service Status suggests we try using an e-mail client. What good will that do? It's just another way to deflect us and deflect the problem.

Also, just as other Forum users have found out, some Customer Service handlers still seem unaware of the Service Status, unaware of the Forum comments, and assume that a bit of maintenance on our e-mail accounts will solve everything. Well, it won't and it hasn't.

Sorry, Plusnet. You are completely unrecognisable from the company I once knew. For goodness sake admit it and get it sorted.

Re: Webmail - Extremely Slow

I recognised the trend more than a two years ago and got myself a Domain / email service for about £20 a year, then progressively migrated my contacts to the new service.  Now just a few subscription accounts and a couple of 'one shot' contacts left.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: Webmail - Extremely Slow

The decline in service was inevitable once they succumbed to BT.

It always happens.

Re: Webmail - Extremely Slow

MauriceC - Can you elaborate please on who you use for this domain / email service?

Thanks

Re: Webmail - Extremely Slow

I've used Discount Domains  for about 5 years.  There are others in the marketplace.

Re: Webmail - Extremely Slow

Thank you Maurice.

So, presumably, you configure your PN emails to come via Discount Domains but don't get the error messages we currently see via PN Webmail?

I'm not sure I understand how all this works but will find out if it resolves the awful service currently experienced.

Re: Webmail - Extremely Slow

Unless I'm mistaken, Maurice doesn't use PlusNet emails at all. The other company mentioned handles his email requirements.

I've been buying domain names since I got my first computer 18 years ago. My email address has thus not changed in that time despite several changes of ISP. I could quite easily divert all my emails to Gmail with a few mouse clicks - no one would need to be advised a new address. Problem is I like PlusNet webmail - and this evening it's working pretty fast for a change!
