Very poor IMAP performance (*@*.plus.com address with mostly Thunderbird 140.5.0esr and iOS)

Today's email issues revolve around very poor IMAP performance: emails disappearing, not being moved properly, multiple emails reappearing after deleting them, sent emails not saved and then several copies appearing, login problems, slow connections...

I am sadly losing confidence with my Plus.net/Greenby email after 20-odd years. I'm not certain if messages are being sent and/or received by their intended recepients. Plus I seem to have a large amount of SPAM messages recently as well. It all seems to have coincided with the migration to Greenby, for which I have not received a bill yet (no longer a Plus.net broadband customer, just an email user).

Does anyone have any insight as to what is happening behind the scenes with this migration, which seems to be causing issues of late? If I am to be paying for this service in the future, I expect stable servers and manipulation of my emails. Thank you.

@Mankee Have you actually been moved to Greenby? I am an 'email-only' ex-PN  customer, and, AFAIK,  *@*.plus.com accounts have not yet started to move.

I suspect from the sounds of things that I have not yet been moved to Greenby. I got some emails in May and then another in August and nothing since, except unstable email service and plenty of SPAM.

Not aiming this at you, personally, and I'm not a fan of the way BT Consumer Division are driving the Plusnet brand (which is one of the reasons I moved in 2021), but I have not suffered all these email issues.

No, that's fine, I'm not taking anything personally! I've never had to complain about my email until my very first post on here about 18 months ago and just today when it has been very frustrating to work with.

@Mankee  Your first post above summarises exactly the problems I've had in the last hour or two.  Thunderbird in Windows 10 and K-9 on my phone.

I am having similar problems on my <name>.plus.com email.  They have been happening at a low level for several weeks, but seem to be getting worse lately.  Just sent an email to soneone and ended up with 3 copies in my Sent folder and various complaints about not being able to login to my imap accout. Migration to Greenby was supposed to start after 17/11/25, but no other info received since original email on 17/10/25. Partner with different email address but still based on <account>.plus.com  not having problems on iOS.

Email client is Thunderbird 115.18.0 (64 bit) on Ubuntu.

@davec13 That is a very old release - I have (on ZorinOS) 128.12.0esr, and the current TB official release is 145 (or 146, can't quite remember).
