Received notification today that a main plus.net email address is closig and needs to be renewe within 48hoursd. "Webmail" describing it as my business address. Is this dodgy or normal ? So many unknowns with this forced migration carry on.

The incoming IMAP is not a problem, but the outgoing SMTP is causing me issues.
I've tried many combinations of parameters, AFAIK the following should work:
- Server: relay.plus.net
- Port: 25
- Encryption: None (SSL/TLS Off)
- Authentication: Required
- Username: your full Plusnet mailbox username (e.g., username+mailbox)
- Password: your mailbox password
- Requires sign‑in: Yes
- Use same credentials as incoming: Yes

AFAIK that is not a recommended setting! Wouldn't it be better to use the recommended settings and try to find out what else is wrong? If necessary, using webmail for now.

(AFAIK) are the settings I'm led to be believe are correct.

"(AFAIK) are the settings I'm led to be believe are correct."
AFAIK (and I don't know much!) Port 25 with no encryption are outdated and deprecated settings.
The current recommended settings for outgoing (SMTP) email are
Host: relay.plus.com
Port: 465 (Encryption Enabled)
As per the settings advised on the Greenby User Portal (albeit the original Plusnet documentation allows other settings...)
One Who Knows has commented: "but more technically correct is port 587 with STARTTLS"
I don't use client email software on my PC, only webmail, so don't have any of these issues.
Just tried logging on to the Greenby webmail, seems to be working OK to me, though a bit slow.
Evidence of longstanding Plusnet Email issues:

How to set up Plusnet email - what settings to use says SMTP relay.plus.net and port 587 (recommended)
AFAIK relay.plus.net is the official, current outgoing SMTP server for Plusnet email, whereas relay.plus.com is an older, legacy address
On greenby help page with the exception of Greenby Staging VISP 1 none of various plusnet email brands specify enmail.co as smtp server so still not sure why people are using enmail.co with 3rd party email clients

Hi Plusnet Team,
Is there any update on the migration timeline for mailboxes ? Is there a way to ask for the move to be sooner than later ?
Thank you
Markus

Many people are still wondering if they have been migrated to Greenby. I don't remember ever seeing any detailed migration timeline published by Plusnet. Was it not technically possible to draw one up? Or was it just not worth the effort financially?
