Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

oops, apparently the 2nd part of that word phrase is not acceptable anymore - sorry!  I'm too old can't keep up with all the change of usage.

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

I think I can send but I've not received any email today.

I'm getting "your e-mail server rejected your login"

Have you logged into Greenby and checked your "junk" folder in the webmail section?

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

I haven't had any emails from Greenby, and have been using my plusnet emails (downloading them using Thunderbird as a client) as normal until today, when I keep getting login problems. It has worked intermittently but not consistently.

I would quite like to change to a different provider, maybe even get my own domain as I'd rather hhave something that worked reliably than be dependent on something rather dodgy. How easy is this to do? And will I hear something about the switch over?

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

No emails have come through since 1pm today, webmail on Greenby just times out

504 Gateway Time-out

The server didn't respond in time.

The bot doesn't even respond.

Nice work, Plusnet.

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

Same here - nothing downloaded via TB today -log in failed..  Can't log in direct to webmail either.

I had the 1st (and only)email from Plusnet over a month ago - nothings since from PN or Greenby.

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

Its been on and off all morning for me. Now I seem to have nothing. They were due to get back to me about how slow an email could be but looks bad now.

Thankfully I have a few other accounts that work reliably.

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

I have moved to email provider Fastmail.com. been using their domain for about 20 or more years with email redirected to plus.net.  I have always used their smtp so it was a matter of changing the pop protocol.  Now no emails are re-directed via Plus net.  The cost is about £21 annually for the basic account, but it is very reliable and you get your own domain i.e.  xxx@fastmail.com.  Obviously there are other cheaper providers if you shop around.

Could you clarify redirected to, and redirected via?

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

As said originally redirected to Plusnet via Fastmail as I was using pop.plus.net.  Now changed to the the Fastmail pop settings so no more issues with missing emails.

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

Will Greenby be able to fix this problem with Outlook and Hotmail addresses bouncing when you send to them from Plusnet ?

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

@SagaPlus I sincerely doubt it. Plusnet have been trying to solve it for quite a long time, with little success, I suspect because MS keep moving the goalposts.
